QRS

QRS offered:

The QRS frames were usually a tube style with the exception of a few modular design cars. All bodies were made of fiberglass from a true master of the art. The QRS cars and trucks came with a quick change rear end that was housed in a black plastic housing, gray plastic housing or one of two aluminum styles depending on when it was built. Zenoah 23cc engine was standard equipment in all models.

Available Hop-Ups;

                   - Tuned pipes
                   - Interior kits
                   - Polished aluminum wheels
                   - Nerf bars
                   - Skid plates

QRS was owned and operated by Jeff Schmidt. Jeff was the original founder of Pacesetter and made the first 1/4 scale RC car. In 1987, Jeff started QRS producing some of the best "FUN" 1/4 scale cars and trucks around. QRS was the first out with a monster truck and stadium truck. The monster truck was 4wd and 4ws with a VERY powerful servo for the steering. With only about 20 of these trucks ever produced, if you have one, keep it! The stadium trucks were the bestselling model.

Races were conducted at local tracks where many stadium trucks came to race! Jeff, over the years, produced many different and innovative vehicles, one of which is probably one of the most amazing 1/4 scale RC car ever made, the Daytona Cobra Coupe. The Daytona is fashioned after the 60's Daytona Coupe that was designed by Peter Brock for Carroll Shelby. Jeff went as far as getting original blueprints for the original Daytona coupe and meeting with the designer Peter Brock. The car's body is a fiberglass design with a tilt up front hood section to get to the Zenoah 23cc engine inside. The chassis is a steel tube design that is scaled down to the size of the tubes. The front and rear suspension is a leaf spring design that was used in the full size cars. This car is nothing short of a work of art. It was featured in US and Asian model magazines and currently resides in a very safe place. The Daytona Coupe was the last car produced by QRS and only one exists. QRS closed their doors in 1997.

QRS was the king of off-road. The stadium truck was an amazing machine that was later copied by several other manufacturers. The monster truck was just a beast and I can honestly say that they are some of my favorite models. The Daytona Coupe, well look at the pictures section. There are no words for its beauty.

Please look at the Pacesetter section to learn more about Jeff Schmidt.
