dragster how would you want it..
heres the question witch 1/4 scale dragster frame would you rather have or see built.. a 1 piece frame or a 2 piece. where it brakes down for easy transport and storage.??
i myself like the single frame better but thats just my opinion,, ant the 2 piece bodys didnt look too good
what you all think..

Re: dragster how would you want it..
so no one has an opinion..
no one wants a dragster... hum...
whats the deal people. were afraid to post?
this is ask the people what they want and build it..
prime example on why 1/4 scale is almost dead...
like a wise man told me if 1/4 scale is ever going to work every one has to get along.. too many rules.... we nee a run what you brung to many rules... it,s time for fun.. if we needed all the rules we'd midas well run full size race cars.
1/4 scale is ( looks like real car but little) that was the best part... now we have lots of options L.O.L..
SOMETIMES I DONT UNDERSTAND.. THIS SPORT NEEDS HELP AND PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER.. NOT FIGHTING AGAINST EACH OTHER.. << THATS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IS HAPPENING...
NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO HELP GET IT GOING..

Re: dragster how would you want it..
Hi,I think it would come down to the size of the vehicle that would transport it. I have a minivan ,so I would want a 1 piece frame. Someone with a hatchback would I guess want a 2 piece frame.Wouldn't a 2 piece frame would be easier to repair ,Just slip on a new front section. As for the 2 piece bodies , if they are painted and decaled right, you wouldn't see the seam. but thanks just me. Thanks.

Re: dragster how would you want it..
will it fit in your van they are 7 - 8 foot long
anyone have info on the wcm breakaway dragster? with wood front?
and yes if you were in a accident you would be able to change out the front... on a 2 piece.. but in the same note you could just cut the 1 piece frame ., and install a new front in the same manner. but i would break it down different than new era,, i would do the top at a front support and bottom at a rear support then the break down is not at the same brace and it would make it a little stronger.

Re: dragster how would you want it..
Jason, it was not even a day and during the week at that. I dont think it has anything to do with rules or fighting against each other? There is nothing to fight over and there are no rules. No one is in business of selling any of this stuff with the exception of quarter mortar. I am sure he would totally help you out. He builds his cars as one piece and it seems to have worked for him. He rarely comes on the board so email is best.fordfreak05 wrote:so no one has an opinion..

You want answers right then and there....don't you?
Post one day and then only one day later complain no own answers.
Chill.....
From where I stand 1/4 scale is rolling along nicely. Kind of like when we ran a 1:1
Front Engine Dragster (2000-2008). Not everyone had one, but when we came out to run, everyone wanted to watch. I know of several 1/4 scale cars in the area that are being built for the 2010 drag racing season.
I have three I am finishing myself and my next one (2011?) will be a dragster.

To answer your question (took long enough to get to it
) a one piece car will be in my future. I have a motorcycle trailer so transportation will not be a issue.

Re: dragster how would you want it..
I admit I was one of the 45 that looked and didn't post. The reason? While I might be married to what I consider the most wonderful and brilliant man on the planet, very little of his knowledge has rubbed off on me (not for lack of trying). I'm not mechanically inclined. I can tell you if it is a pretty color or a nice shape, but I can't offer any suggestions as to which thingymabob would work best. My initial thought on the one piece vs two piece was that I'd be really concerned how well and how straight they were hooked together if it was a two piece. If you were booking down the drag strip and had just a little wiggle in the front piece, it could spell disaster. I honestly don't know if that's true or not, just my initial take on it. I didn't want to say anything in case that was a completely idiotic thing to consider. I imagine others lurk around the site and don't post for a host of reasons. Please don't be offended if people look, but don't add to the discussion.

MRS QSL,
That was a much better answer than I could have given about who may have looked and did not Post.
In my case, I do not look at this site every day and today was the first time I had viewed it .

now that's a wonderful concern / question., the new era dragster i had was a 2 piece and i didn't like it .it all went together at one spot, and it did move a little ..
if i did a 2 piece one i would stagger the breaks . to make it stronger. and probably convert a 1 piece frame to a 2 piece...
but it also has to appeal to your liking . if you don't like the looks your not going to buy it...

Would this be a pipe slide break or a flat plate bolt together setup?
