LOOKING FOR NEW ERA FULL CAGE GRAND NATIONAL PARTS

Post by alloyparts »

I just purchased a New Era stock car frame, it is the full cage frame. I am looking for some front end components like the a arms and such, also any rear trailing arms and bits would be great. Please email me with any info at derf54@verizon.net
Thanks in advance
Fred

which one of the cars do you have. I have one of the old chain drive cars that has alot of the suspension but it is ruff. The one I have has the roof loop set back kinda far back.

Yea, the one I have is way older then that one. Mine has a crossmember in the front like a real car to mount suspension to. Was'nt really a good design because it did'nt hold up very well. I dont think the parts are interchangable. The rear you could probly use WCM bird cagesand axle set-up. I don't know how you would do the motor unless you turned it like the new cars. The older cars had the motor sitting backwards to center the belt on the axle. They had a block with gears and a small belt kinda like a layshaft deal. Anyway you may be able to use an old WCM set-up for that too. The one I have is pretty worn but may still work or atleast you can copy the design.
I'll try to get some pics of what I have to see if they will work.
