I just had to share.

Post by cryo-tek »

This is one of those things that I just had to share.

I had been thinking of ordering a set of aluminum rims for my Raco Indy from BRP (http://www.bishopracingproducts.com). There wasn’t much information on the web site and the pictures were less than impressive. They looked to be a one piece rim but they were aluminum and less than $400.00 for all four shipped to my home. So, after numerous trips to the web site I decided to order a set as, after all, I could always send them back.

I’m here to tell you these are not going back! :D

When I opened the box and found the rims I could not believe my eyes…… In a time when you get less than you expect, here was more than I expected. The rims are a two piece rim with the Allen screws nicely hidden in the back. The fronts are nicely polished. I still look at them and go ‘WOW…I am impressed!’

Check these out:

I used a set of 3" in the front and a set of 4" in the rear. I also used some spacers behind the rims so the rear tires didn't rub the body. Todd also provided the spacers. The rims on the Kraco car look like a 6 slot rim. Mine are a 5 slot but I'm sure that you could get them with 6 slots. I want to find out what patterns Todd can make. I was thinking of lighting bolts or two rows of apposed thin slots. How about wedges like the old Inkei wheels. It looks like I’m going to need a couple more sets of these rims and cars to put them on. Wow ! Why didn’t I think of that one before? Honey, I’m going to need a car that fits my rims. It sounds so reasonable to me but I don’t think it will resonate the same in the female brain.

Please let me know what rims you guys get and what you think of them.

I have to agree with cryo-tek wholeheartedly. I recently purchased a brand new, never run set of Bishop wheels from a friend here in Australia. He was extremely happy with them.....he just has some other options with wheels that will be announced soon in Australia. I had not seen them in person, however the emailed photos looked all right to me. When they arrived I was amazed....they are just so good. They are being boxed up at present to go back to Todd to get some rubber fitted professionally.
Here they are.......and....‘WOW…I am impressed!’

Mike,
Just received my BRP wheels back from Todd. Here's the finished set. He does a superb product. They'll end up on one of my sprintcars.
