I think they would be easy to make as well. The first possible way to make some that came to my mind was a modified flairing tool and some 1/2 aluminum tubing. You would want to remove all of the knurls inside to grippers so they would not scar the outside of the tubing and then flair as normal but not form a complete flair.

Looks great, It looks about like just as I thought it would, I see a slight difference in the top of it as complared to the ones one pacesetter sprint on ebay, the ones on the pacesetter appear to be slightly more rounded where the homemade one, the flair looks a little flatter but real nice.

That did seem like crazy money for the condition.

I have one of the repo bodies and these cars are very cool. Would anybody who has purchased one of the 60's sprint bodies from Mike like to go in on having a few chassis made from the prints? Please correct me if I am wrong but I don't think this would cause any conflicts with Pacesetter or Jeff as he sold the prints back in the day so people could do just that. It should significantly reduce the manufacturing costs if we could get a commitment for like 5 chassis. Maybe use a more modern rear end like the rc4wd axle? I would love to hear other members thoughts on doing a project like this. I don't personally have the manufacturing experience to do this but I am sure it could be outsourced to a general job shop for a reasonable price. Maybe Jeff himself would like to turn out a few of these chassis?

Just some thoughts.

i dont see a problem doing that as long as its not for profit. Say, like someone building and producing the cars for sale. But for what we do here, i think its cool. Jeff for sure though would not be interested. He simply does not have the time.

I did find some aluminum at the scrap yard thats perfect for these, they are already bent and just need to be trimmed. It would be easy to get a place to form them as well. I plan on building one for me with twin engines.

Mike, Thank you for your reply. I agree, definitely not a money making venture but just a way to get a couple chassis made for those of us that have the bodies.

that flaring kit will do very light weight tubing. To do stainless or seamless, you need a real one. I use a imperial one and it has an option on it so you can go over the flare one extra time without making it bigger to make sure that round. and not oval. I bought one of those harbor freight ones, but was not happy with it.

oh yea, the harbor freight one scars the tubing too because of the way it holds it.
