GN tires and wheels.

Post by dakota9576 »

I am getting my son into racing. he will be in the sportsman class here in Iowa. I have a car and everything else accept wheels and tires. I was hoping not to have to buy all new stuff right away so I am putting this out there to see what I can gather up.

They don't have to be new but would be good if they were in decent shape and can be used for the first part of the season.

Thanks

Just a FYI. The one thing I would NOT cut corners on if you are planning on racing is tires. The reason is the tires will make a huge difference in how the car handles. You have to make sure the compounds are good for your track also. Save up and call Todd and tell him what your running and where and he can get you on the right tires. The first car I ever "tried" to race had tires that the guy said he ran but they were just put on to sell the car. I was so frustrated becasue the car would not handle at all, I almost said the hell with it and was going to sell it. Then I talked to a friend and he looked at the tires and found the problem. A call to Todd and that fixed everything. I know tires are'nt cheap but you will be alot better off with new ones.
It will make for alot better time at the track too.
