New Guy here Hello From Texas

Post by BeninTexas »

Hello all Im Ben and new to this forum, since I was a kid i have been into RC of almost any kind, be it Planes, Cars, boats. I had been looking for a Top fuel dragster chassis for years and recently won one on Ebay, got it and love it !!!
Myself along with some very Dear Friends have been experimenting with Rocket Dragsters, and being a mechanical engineer, structural engineer I came up with some pretty interesting designs, however still love the older top Fuelers.
So with buying that chassis I mentioned, i was wondering who might have or where can I gain access to some pictures and measurements or even designs as long as its ok to copy, front end parts and designs, rear end types be it chain drive, quick change, or ???? so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
As mentioned My dear friends who are also involved which is about 16 of us so far really would like to see this hobby resurected, Im not one to just give up and am stubborn so those who have tried convince me its a waste of time just waste their time, So please any and all help would sure be nice..... now lets see about getting this Outstanding hobby breathing again :D
also anyone who is interested in contacting me just reply here and i will get my contact information
Thanks again All

Ben

HAHAHA Well Thank you all for the kind welcome, I havent got any pictures yet however soon maybe, I got turned on to this Hobby I was still in High school and always wanted to get into it but as life lead me just never found the time and some resouces to do it, but now that High School is a life time away now, its time to get working on it, I have a fully dedicated micro shop ( Man Cave) where I go to build anything I want, I specialize in building Bridge and Turntable systems for G scale Model Railroading and I have my stuff I have designed and built all over the world, so this "New" Hobby will be a sinch as I have alot of background in the Miniature field, and CANNOT wait till I can put my grubby mits into this Hobby hehehehe

hehehehe Me let you guys down ?????? Never !!!!!!! heck I already feel like part of the Family with the kind welcomes and all, some time here in the next few days I may look on the computer at home and see what kinda stuff I got as far as pics of my Bridges and stuff I build and post them on the other end of this forums index just to give you all kind folks a "look see", and as I start reverse engineering that chassis I just bought and start with a new one I will post picks of that too, and I hope you all dont mind a bombardment of questions , as I will be needing some info from anyone about different lengths of mainly front end parts, wing hieghts and lengths and the like and then once that info has been obtained, look out !!!! Im getting busy hehehe. Well I think breakfast is ready I hear the smoke alarm going off so I will be back later take care.

SHISH.........after 1 year.

As we all find out....this 1/4 scale stuff can be very addictive! I recall telling my wife I really couldn't afford my 1st 1/4 scale sprintcar, when I started racing back in 1998. My list now reads... my very 1st sprintcar from 1998, my current racing sprintcar, an as new Quickdraw sprintcar, a 60s Pacesetter sprintcar, a static Gilmer midget , 4 Old WCM sprintcars in varoius stages of restoration and a 1/5 scale Hobby Pro Buggy, that will become a flashy Pace Truck for the local dirt track club, when time permits.
My wife comes into my shed and just smiles..
And she allows my Pacesetter and Gilmer to live inside our house. Big, big dispensation...that one
