Every club has different rules.
There is no one set of rules that covers everybody. Check with whoever you're going to running with.

Re: Motor Size.
PT Our Top fuel class is limited to 90cc's we do have 2 top fuel dragsters running 34cc and the other a 54cc, but most of our members run 80's and 90's in that class.
Re: Motor Size.
Thanks for the replies. Is it easy enough to find these 80,90cc motors.

Re: Motor Size.
We used to buy a chainsaw direct from Solo and cut it up then machine the needed parts to install it.
Something are different and need to be made like the clutch arbor, clutch bell, clutch housing and motor mounts.
The older chainsaw motors work great, but it can be very expensive by the time you have one ready to bolt into your car.
The 54cc solos can be straight plucked from the case with 4 bolts without cutting it out like the 80 or 90cc, but again you will need to accommodate the same parts, unless you locate those parts from an old pacesetter or new era who both used 54's I believe in there funny cars and pro stocks.
Quadra Aerrow makes some really beefy stuff and the prices are not bad.. ( http://quadraengines.com/ )
Besides chainsaw motors and airplane stuff, you can look at the go ped stuff as well, there you can find a 49cc with clutch bell and housing pretty cheap.
Anyway good luck with your search.
