Interesting story behind that... Cory Savage actually basically got Pacesetter into dragsters. He wanted a top fuel and a funny car. Cory Savage did advertising work and traded that service to pacesetter for some cars. His dragsters were the first pacesetter made.
Also, if you remember any of the old ads for pacesetter with their sprint car. Cory was the one holding the car in the pictures.

The very first issue of Car Action I ever saw had a Q-scale black Thunderbird ProStock on the cover, which I also think was one of Cory Savage's cars.
The next issue had the Ragin' Red funny car on the cover, the Pale Rider FC and the Secret Weapon TF cars featured in it. Blew my mind.
....and, I was completely hooked into wanting to get into RC immediately upon seeing those. That was the "spark" for me.
