No one ever questioned the cost of raw materials.

I think eds has been sitting is parially because its not complete and also because its not original. Not that its a bad car or anything. But a mint complete, original car will be worth more.

Nyc, no it would not likely be worth 5k. It would not be original. It would be a neat custom car though.

Thanks for the reply Mike, just trying to justify why someone would pay $3500 for this car thats all.
So your saying if the car had a skellenger rear instead of a raco the car would loose it's value??
How can it be worth more with a plastic gear box that you can find for sale between $75 and $150 vs. a rear that cost upwards of $750 ??

Who determines the value of these cars? The buyers or the sellers??

Not that it would be worth less, but chances are it would not be worth more unless it was a nicely done piece. And at that, the value is in a different catagory and you would really need a special buyer for it.

With all that said, I don't understand everyones infatuation with what somethings worth. Like a lot of people here, I don't care what my stuff is worth. It brings some joy into my life and I never plan on selling it off.

Its simply another cost in life. We race small cars, go jeeping, camp, go on great vacations. In the big picture, 1/4 scale is only a small part of my fantastic life.

If someone has to keep track of every penny. This is probably not the right hobby for them.

Oh,forgot, I don't go onto the lamborghini forums and bitch I can't afford one and I could buy the materials to build one at 20% of the cost.

Merry christmas guys!!

I will say that for sure, people see what some of these cars bring and all of a sudden think that their JR is worth money, but i dont think that anyone ever gets those prices. If they do, good for them

Also, well said ED.

hey all,

i think the biggest thing you are all missing is; you are buying a piece if history. true they are just toys, and to some have little value, but to the collector, to find an original piece new, never started is a very rare find. out of the 50 built how many are new??? one??? what price do you put on a one of a kind???? the car in my mind is a buy @ $3500.00 for someone looking for that car... if i were into the indy cars it would have been sold the day it hit ebay....

just my 2 cents worth...

someone scored a nice ride.

I bought a brand spanking new one a few years ago from england. Very nice one, body is not painted this nice though. You can never make these cars as good as new. I have tried. Between the pem nuts and suspension, the rebuilds just dont feel the same.

Congrats to who ever got it. I am sure they will love it. Plus this particular car had some very nice history behind it, never mind the included documentation...
