1/3 and 1/4 scale Corvvete help

Post by patriot14t20 »

Well i have decided to make a 1/3 or 1/4 scale Le Mans Racing C6R. This will be my first large scale build. Im thinking 1/3 scale would be the best for me because of the motor size and speed Im trying to get with this project.

I, however dont not have any CNC machining exp., but I do however have alot of friends that work at a CNC place m and I have direct access to a full line of machining equipment at work, but have no clue how to run anything but a drill press and a lathe(a lil bit).

So basically, Im an average dude trying to build a complex(or so it may seem) machine

Im not really sure how to get all the measurements I need, or how to scale down a real full size car.

I want a really fast RC car, I would love to throw in a Conley, but the engines are way out of my price range. So I was thinking a weed wacker style motor, or something with more than 5HP.

Any advice or help would be awesome.

I want to keep it front engine, rear wheel drive. Tubular frame, transmission, drive shaft, 4 way independent suspension, dont really care about the interior of the car, just getting it to look EXactly like the full size real life racing car.

This is still in the planning stages, I just recently got back into the RC world.
