Pacesetter Clutch help

Hey guys.. Need some help.
Below are 2 clutches. One from a chain drive car (right), one from an inline set up with silver dollar rear end. (left)
Other side
My question is... The silver dollar clutch has nothing to keep it from sliding forward off the holder on one side. This is how I got the car, and I wasn't so sure about it. I put it together that way, and it slid the clutch off the mount towards the motor when I spun it over. Am I missing a piece, or need something else???? See pic below to get a better idea.

vwguru75 wrote:The one that slid off is to be installed inside a clutch drum like on a chain drive. It can't walk out because the clutch drum with sprocket backs it. The other part, as you have it mounted, stops it from walking OUT of the drum.
Try and blow this up to see what I'm talking about.
The one on the right in your picture looks like it should work for your application, the one on the left POSSIBLY could be flipped to not be able walk the shaft but instead walk towards the inside of the clutch bell.
I think that is what I am going to do, thanks.

Flipping it will not work.. The thread depth changes, so to get the clutch lined up, the motor mount holes are off.
Someone with this car must have an answer!

paul, i just went through all my bins. All left hand threaded ones are constructed like that. All the right hand threaded ones are constructed like your other one. So this looks correct. Now what i am wondering is if maybe the wrong engine is in there?

Could be a different engine... Although zoomie headers are a direct fit, and everything else fits fine. I just need to come up with a stopper for the back side of the clutch and I'll be ok.
Thanks guys

Paul, how about a fender washer. I/ve seen them up to 3 inch in diameter. You just need to get one with a small enough hole to be threaded.

Is the engine the correct rotation for the rear?

I'm pretty sure it is.. The one way bearing in the pulley to start it will only let it turn over the direction the tires need to go forward.

That's what I was thinking, or worse case drill and tap the base with a couple holes to mount a fender washer.

Wow.. Might be on to something here. Thanks to Larry, it looks like he found the source for the clutches. Looks like they were originally made by Husqvarna, and a company called Poulan.
The stuff looks to be still available through Poulan, fingers crossed my order will be "in stock"!
