Hello everyone. I am interested in getting some more information about the Raco Indy car. How many were produced? How much should I expect to pay for a good condition car and does anyone have one they would like to sell? Were there any other 1/4 scale indy cars produced? Thank you

Welcome to the forum!!! Expect to pay in the $1500-2k range for one in very good condition unless you luck out and find someone that does not know what they have :D
Best I can tell production ran 50-100pcs.
There were 3 other cars made. Only 2 were actually sold.
-B&L indy car. This is by far the best, but only the prototype was built.
-Race Tek Defiant. This is a tube frame car with a Raco rear end in it.
-Yankee F1. This is a very nice car and the largest. Easy to find and
cheaper.

I spelled it wrong, you are right its "Race-Tech" they were built in Leesburg VA and retailed for $1695. They were the first to finish and sell Indy cars. I was lucky enough to get one a couple years ago. I dont know too much more info on them. I dont know how many were made. I have only seen one and I have it.

I forgot that New Era made a indy car too. It looks kinda like the Race-Tech car but with a New Era QC rear in it.

It needs new front and rear wings. The back one is not original. Whos car is that you posted? Looks like a Raco body, PBS rear, Raco arms and some DWA parts. Pretty sweet.

Ed, I have all the litterature for the car including manuals, dealer sheets, magizine reviews, Etc... I just have not had the time to put them on the site.
Why would you ask about them if you thought you knew where they were built?
Here is the article on it. Note the name and address.

Mike you didn't have time to put it on the site your words.
It only took an hour to give some info on here. So how much time do think you need to get out on the site.
Now on your question if i knew why ask.
Formula1 asked about where to get a car. You tell him 1500 to 2000 for the price if you can find one.
You just stated that you have a car sell it to him.HELP HIM OUT You want everyone to beleive you have all the answers. AGAIN your wrong with your pic from a magizine.
Now how i know who built it i was in Jaskson when it was being built.
Mike do your homework before you post.YOU SAID RACE-TECH built the car.So that pic you put up just tells everyone who sold the car.
Like i said do your homework if you want to compete with me.
Thanks ED

Mike, Thank you for the information on the indy cars. I think I will be looking for a raco after your information and some articles in old RCCA magazines. Looks like a fun machine. Thank you for putting together a great site. Very helpful infomation on a great scale of R/C. I have been collection vintage 1/10 scale for a while and this opens up a whole new catagory. Thanks
