Re: 1/4 Scale Diff Build

Funky - the impact and the noise of the impact are quite shocking..Whilst the cars are made of steel they do give a bit, but due to the impacts there have been many a great driver retired due to injury. From a spectator point of view its the bash n crash that we enjoy! Sometimes you forget about the...

Re: Where to buy universal joints

https://sdp-si.com/eStore/PartDetail.asp?Opener=Group&PartID=2059&GroupID=332 I got the plastic one, with the brass bar - as per bottom pic. The outer wall thickness of the side that slides over the solid brass bar is very thin. I simply sleeved it with 9.5mm x 9.5mm 1.2 wall thickness squar...

Re: 1/4 Scale Diff Build

Gasman...LOL alright..we work 5 mins apart but get online via America! Id be interested in seeing the belt setup cos I'm definately going brushless and thinking of using a belt setup etc. I'm waiting on Castle Creations to confirm the ratio for me but i think Baja uses 8.38 ratio or something like t...

Re: 1/4 Scale Diff Build

Yeah Brian tried to convince me to do the reduction off the motor, but I wanted the look of the QC. The ring gear is quite big so my housing ended up big as well...I'm not overly worried cos extra weight over the rear wheels will be fine, as the front end with all the bar work is heavy. I'm just try...

Re: 4 piece BRP tires

If you get stuck and want to borrow some BRP tyres to mock up your sprintcar drop me a line..My wheels are setup for my Superstock (so basically have stagger etc) and arent the big wide ones (mine are 2" wide), but certainly will help with initial sizing etc..Todd from BRP was awesone to deal w...

Driveshaft options

Hi everyone - need some help with what options exist for driveshaft on a 1/4 RC stockcar Ive built. We've made a homemade QC for it and bolted in a firewall and motor etc. I have about 200mm (around 7") distance between the input shaft on the QC and the clutch endbell. Driveshaft will need univ...
