A few days ago i visited Mr Rolf Luther of http://www.luther-modellmotoren.de
As far as I know he is the only one in Germany right now, who still build model engines. Actually he is working on two Ferrari V12 engines. They are custom made. If you have a quarterscale project he will built the right engine for you. A few engines are „standard" like the Luther V8 I bought for my dragster project.
His wife offered me coffee and cake and I had a very nice time at his workshop.
Thank you Mr. Luther

Re: Luther model engines
He builts all the parts by himself without CNC and even without a computer. The drawings of the Luther engines are handmade. That makes it difficult for me to work with him but in a way it is nice too.
He also works with the drawings of the original manufacturer. The two V12 Ferrari engines are not finished but parts are laying on the table.

There is also a Porsche Boxer engine in parts....
Re: Luther model engines
Kaye his brain is the CNC machine, he uses the crank dials by hand to move along the X Y Z axes. That's what it looks like to me? Great photos Michael, btw what kind of cake? I love sweets!

Re: Luther model engines
I am a little sad because I just found out that Rolf Luther died 7 Month after I visited him. He was a really nice guy.
Rest in Peace.
