1/4 Scale Sprint Car Build
I am building a sprint car (racing style) for a customer in Arkansas and i decided to do the build-up step by step on the forum. I have designed new welding and machining fixtures and will post the pictures of what they look like and how they are made at the shop. Enjoy the build and thanks shawn for letting me put your car on the forum..

Re: 1/4 Scale Sprint Car Build
Here is the CAD drawing of the side welding fixture. Looks busy but everything has a purpose and will make for a precision welding jig. I spend the time up front in making very nice jigs and fixtures so i can produce a chassis that is perfect one after another. This design has taken roughly 3 weeks to get it to a point that i can start producing parts on the machine. I just purchased a laser cutting machine around a month ago to cut all the flat parts for the chassis so decided to produce all my jigs and fixtures with it. The small pieces at the bottom of the print shows the locating slugs used to locate all the pieces of tubing in the chassis. The design will be up loaded into the machine and will nest the parts on a sheet of material and cut the design out.

Sounds very promising, will all your sprint cars come with a quick change rear and will you offer QC rears separately? Also your join date is 2010, I've been here for some time but can't recall who you are?

Re: 1/4 Scale Sprint Car Build
Got the welding jigs cut out and assembled for the new sprint car design. This seemed to take forever to get completed but with precision jigs = consistant products. I needed new jigs for production so the new sprint car design was a perfect time to do so. Hope you enjoy...
