My "new" Pacesetter HiTech Sprint car...

Post by Big_Sal »

Well I'm now the proud owner of a Pacesetter HiTech sprint car....the chassis is tweaked a bit on it...nothing broken, it definitly needs a good cleaning, paint and polishing, it came with wing mounts, body mounts, a new front wing, the side piece for the top wing (no top wing though) some aluminum wheels and new Venom Racing tires (NOS) another clutch, rear sprocket and chain, looks like it has the optional performance header on it too...no air filter assembly...I traded a 60 gal Craftsman upright air compressor for it...lol....pics to follow...

Does anyone have a build sheet or manual for one of these...or maybe some pics of a complete one so I have an idea of what might be missing (like the air cleaner...lol)...

Cool....already noticed that my brakes are mounted on the wrong side...in all the pics they are on the sprocket side...whats the difference with the shocks? Some have small shocks, some big...I have the bigger set on mine.

How can I tell if it's a McCulloch or Quadra? It didn't have the clutch assembly on it, just the bell...no nut, no spacers, no shoes...no nothing, now I have to find a complete clutch, are these parts readly avalible or I'm I going on a vision quest to find them?? From what I read, some headers were made by Headman...mine looks like one of them...I did have it running, honest...it's about 2/3 sripped down right now on my bench...the engine needs to come out and rear suspension disassembled then I can get to straightening the chassis up and paint it black along with the front axle, rear axle and the sprocket....I figured I'll polish all the aluminum pieces as I put them back on...the body has some small repairs to get done...nothing major, fiberglass is nice and easy to fix. My three major things on the list are the clutch, tires and the top wing...other than that is just a teardown and repair/clean up...wasn't really into the sprint cars, but this is a really neat piece of history...

I was checking them out on ebay but wasn't sure if that was everything I needed, there are no spacers or anything else?
